Augustyn Bloch, the composer and organist, was born on 13th of August 1929 in Grudziadz. He was an organ student of Feliks Raczkowski and a composition student of Tadeusz Szeligowski at the National Higher School of Music (nowadays the Academy of Music) in 1950-5 and 1952-9, respectively.
