Γιάννης Παπαϊωάννου {Yannis Papaioannou} (1913-1972) was a Greek musician and composer of rembetika. Born in Kios (now Gemlik), Turkey, on 18th January, he was most active in the 1940s, and wrote many classic rembetika songs. He was also a virtusoso bouzouki player.
