Valery Meladze was born on 23 June 1965 in Batumi, today’s Georgia. He finished piano classes at the musical school. In 1983 he graduated from the Nikolaev shipbuilding institute, today’s Ukraine where his music career started in the ‘Aprel’ (April) band.
